The village of Beer is located directly on the South West Coast Path, which is also known as the Salt Path, famous because of the best selling memoir by Raynor Winn, and the subject of a movie by the same name.

The village itself is described as picturesque, situated on the UNESCO World Heritage Jurassic Coast. The South West Coast Path offers stunning coastal walks around Beer, with routes leading to nearby Seaton and Branscombe. The Salt Path (South West Coastal Path)

The South West Coast Path is a National Trail and the longest waymarked long-distance footpath in England, stretching a remarkable 630 miles (1,014 km). It traces the coastline of the South West Peninsula, starting in Minehead, Somerset, and winding its way along the coasts of North Devon, Cornwall, South Devon, and finally ending at Poole Harbour in Dorset.
